Data Engineer

SmartLunch is a company providing a platform that gives employees access to tasty and healthy meals while enabling companies to show care for their people in everyday life.

• Minimum 4 years of experience in data engineering / Data Engineering.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and practical experience with dbt.
• Experience working with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar).
• Experience designing and implementing data models and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Understanding of event collection and processing (event analytics / event tracking).
• Experience with analytical/BI tools (e.g., Hex, Looker, Tableau) for data access and optimization.
• Ability to independently manage technical tasks end-to-end from concept to production deployment.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic product/technology environment.
• Emphasis on code readability, automation, and high-quality deliverables.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Python for automation and data integration.
• Experience with task orchestration platforms (e.g., Airflow, Dagster, Prefect).
• Experience in scaling product or tech companies.
• Education in computer science, mathematics, physics, or related fields.
• Experience with data ingestion/integration tools such as Airbyte, Fivetran, Stitch, Meltano, or custom API integrations.

• Develop and maintain data architecture and models based on dbt and cloud data warehouses.
• Build data engineering standards, best modeling practices, and ensure code and architecture cleanliness.
• Design, implement, and optimize ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Collaborate with analysts, product, and cross-functional teams to provide high-quality structures for analytics and reporting.
• Create data model layers for analytics, reporting, KPIs, and self-service BI.
• Maintain data governance, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability.
• Assess current technology setup and recommend further development of data tools and infrastructure.
• Design, develop, and monitor data ingestion processes from source systems, APIs, databases, and various tools to data warehouses.
