Cloud Engineer

At Remitly, the team builds and operates the AWS cloud foundation including networking fabric and infrastructure tooling used by every product team. The cloud infrastructure supports millions of customers and is managed at significant scale across hundreds to thousands of accounts. The company focuses on reliability, security, and operational excellence and works at the intersection of technology and financial services.

• Deep knowledge of cloud networking: VPC design, subnetting, routing, Transit Gateway, DNS, and load balancing.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP and network traffic flow analysis for troubleshooting connectivity.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, preferably using Terraform.
• Over 3 years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure with strong AWS expertise.
• Experience in production infrastructure operation, versioning, deployment, and CI/CD best practices.
• Familiarity with edge services such as CloudFront, WAF, Shield, or partner connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect, BGP) is a plus.
• Understanding of multi-account governance and organizational tooling; knowledge of Kubernetes/EKS is beneficial.
• Interest in growing programming skills in Go; backend or scripting experience is a plus.

• Design, build, and evolve cloud networking in Terraform: VPC design, subnetting, routing, Transit Gateway, DNS, and load balancing across multi-account, multi-region topology.
• Own and operate partner and bank connectivity networks such as VPNs (IPSec/IKEv2), Direct Connect, and BGP routing.
• Operate and improve edge infrastructure including CloudFront, AWS Shield, and WAF.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues using TCP/IP protocols and network traffic flow analysis.
• Write modular, reviewable Terraform code, including infrastructure structure, versioning, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Deliver scoped infrastructure work end to end including task estimation and shipping well-tested changes.
• Contribute to multi-account governance and pave abstractions for developers and AI agents.
• Collaborate with SRE, Security, and Platform teams to embed observability, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Participate in on-call rotation and occasional coordination with international teams.
