Lead Frontend Engineer

Relativity is a leading legal data intelligence company developing AI-powered cloud platforms that help organize and manage complex legal data for litigation, investigations, and regulatory inquiries. Their product, RelativityOne, serves law firms, corporations, and government agencies. This role is part of the Engineering Platform team responsible for shared frontend infrastructure, frameworks, and design-system integration.

• 7+ years professional frontend development experience in cloud-native systems.
• Minimum 2 years in a technical leadership or lead engineer role.
• Proven ability to set technical direction and lead teams effectively.
• Hands-on experience designing and building distributed, multi-tenant systems.
• Ownership of CI/CD, observability, and service reliability.
• Strong product and systems thinking balancing delivery speed and sustainability.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and React.
• Deep experience managing shared design systems and implementing Micro Frontend architectures.
• Strong knowledge of semantic HTML, modern CSS and pre-processors (SASS/LESS), responsive design, accessibility standards (WCAG), frontend performance profiling, and cross-browser testing.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, bundlers such as Vite or Webpack, testing frameworks, and RESTful API/ GraphQL API.

Preferred:

• Prior people-lead or technical-lead experience.
• Experience in regulated or large-scale environments.
• Familiarity with AI-development tools like GitHub Copilot.
• Experience in global or distributed organizations.
• Background in Node.js, Python, or .NET for cross-stack collaboration.
• Understanding of UX principles and design-system governance with tools like Figma.
• Experience with AI-driven UI/UX features such as chatbots, recommendation engines, or adaptive layouts.

• Lead design, development, and operation of scalable, secure, shared frontend infrastructure for a cloud-native platform.
• Provide technical direction across the frontend stack, including architecture and design-system integration.
• Collaborate with engineers and product partners to build AI-powered legal data solutions.
• Mentor engineers and lead through technical expertise and collaboration.
• Establish and evolve engineering standards through reviews, best practices, and coaching.
• Align team execution with product strategy and remove technical friction.
• Lead service reliability efforts including on-call practices, incident response, and root cause analysis.
• Set and communicate technical vision for frontend architecture and lead Micro Frontend integration strategies using React, TypeScript, and PrimeReact.
• Guide the team on accessibility (WCAG), performance optimization, test automation with Jest, Cypress, or Playwright, and maintain CI/CD workflows.
• Lead initiatives exploring AI-enhanced UI/UX and grow technical leadership through architectural reviews and hands-on development.
