Senior Business Analyst – OT / Control Systems (Energy & Utilities)

Spyrosoft is a software engineering company established in 2016, specializing in technology solutions for industry 4.0, automotive, geospatial, healthcare & life sciences, employee experience & education, and financial services industries. The role supports digital transformation projects within the Energy & Utilities sector, focusing on Operational Technology (OT) and Control Systems.

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the Energy & Utilities sector or OT/Control Systems projects.
• Practical experience with one or more of the following: ADMS, OMS, DERMS, AMI, SCADA.
• Strong knowledge of business analysis methodologies, requirements engineering and gap analysis.
• Experience in business process modelling, mapping and optimisation.
• Ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Understanding of system integrations, APIs, data flows and enterprise application architecture.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including developers, architects, testers and business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Experience with business analysis and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication, business writing and documentation skills.
• English language proficiency at B2 or higher (C1 preferred).

Nice to have:

• Experience using AI tools in daily workflow.
• Experience in electricity distribution, transmission or smart grid solutions.
• Knowledge of multiple OT/Control Systems platforms.
• Experience in OT/IT integration projects and digital transformation.
• Familiarity with industry standards and protocols such as IEC 61850, IEC 61968/61970 (CIM), DNP3, Modbus.
• Knowledge of BPMN 2.0 and business process modelling tools such as Enterprise Architect, Visio, ARIS, Signavio.
• Experience in data modelling, SQL, or API integration analysis.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles related to Operational Technology.
• Relevant certifications such as CBAP.
• Knowledge of additional European languages (German, French, Italian, Spanish) an advantage.

• Gather, analyse, document and manage business and functional requirements in collaboration with clients and technical teams.
• Work with Operational Technology (OT) and Control Systems, including ADMS, OMS, DERMS, AMI, and SCADA.
• Conduct business process analysis, mapping and optimisation to identify improvement opportunities.
• Perform gap analysis between existing business processes, systems and proposed solutions.
• Identify system integration requirements and collaborate with Solution Architects and development teams.
• Act as a key point of contact between business stakeholders, clients and technical delivery teams.
• Prepare business requirements documentation (BRD), functional specifications, user stories, use cases and process flow diagrams.
• Support solution design, implementation, testing and deployment activities.
• Participate in workshops, requirements gathering sessions and stakeholder meetings.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test scenario preparation and validation of delivered solutions.
• Identify opportunities for process automation, digitalisation and operational efficiency improvements.
• Ensure alignment between business objectives, technical solutions and project deliverables.

This is a full-time freelance project engagement with an initial contract duration of 1 year.
