Junior Software Engineer (Go/C++), Security Foundations Engineering - Splunk

The Security Foundations Engineering team within the Platform Engineering organization builds and operates foundational platform security components for secure management of secrets, auditing, cryptography, and compliance across a SaaS and On-Prem product portfolio. The team consists of 10+ engineers working in a fast-paced environment maintaining cloud-based, multi-region platform security services on multiple cloud providers.

• Master's degree or bachelor's degree plus 1-2 years of related experience
• Experience delivering and maintaining production software in Go and/or C++
• Understanding of software design, debugging, testing, and secure coding principles
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux (including shell scripting), networking concepts, and cybersecurity fundamentals
• Ability to solve technical issues methodically and learn unfamiliar parts of a system
• Willingness to adopt and apply GenAI tools across software engineering workflows
• Growth mindset with a strong desire to learn, try new technologies, and take on new challenges
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills

Nice to have:

• Exposure to cloud infrastructure across multiple cloud service providers
• Familiarity with DevOps practices
• Basic knowledge of containerization technologies and container orchestration with Kubernetes
• Experience with automation tools like Terraform for infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipeline management
• Understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including secrets management, auditing, cryptography, and compliance
• Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk
