Senior/Lead Security Engineer (Detection & Response)

• Significant hands-on experience in detection engineering, security engineering, incident response, or threat hunting
• Strong understanding of cloud environments, ideally AWS, and how to monitor for unauthorized or suspicious activity
• Strong networking fundamentals and knowledge of attacker lateral movement
• Strong understanding of attacker tradecraft to create high-signal detections
• Experience investigating security incidents and driving to resolution
• Strong scripting/programming skills, ideally Python, with automation habits
• Experience with security tools like SIEM, EDR, SOAR or equivalents
• Strong systems thinking and inquisitive mindset about compromise detection
• Autonomous working capability and collaboration with IT and Engineering
• Curiosity and proactive experimentation with AI-assisted development and security workflows

Nice to have:

• Experience with AWS security telemetry (CloudTrail, GuardDuty, VPC Flow Logs, IAM)
• Experience with detection-as-code, Sigma, Git-based detections, automated testing
• Familiarity with EDRs like CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Defender
• Network security monitoring knowledge (PCAP, NetFlow/sFlow, firewall telemetry)
• Experience in digital forensics, threat intelligence, purple teaming, or security validation
• Data center or colocation security experience, including OOB networks and BMC/IPMI
• Security automation and application of AI/LLMs to security engineering and operations
• Experience in energy, trading, fintech, critical infrastructure or high-value-target environments

• Own security monitoring and detection across AWS, identity, endpoints, SaaS, networks and data center environments
• Build and maintain the telemetry and logging pipelines needed to detect security incidents, and continuously test and improve detection coverage
• Lead security investigations and incident response from detection through containment, recovery and post-mortem
• Proactively hunt for threats and identify gaps in visibility, controls and detection coverage
• Build automation to improve detection, investigation and response using AI and emerging tools
• Work closely with IT and Engineering to turn security findings into preventative controls and better system design
• Develop and test incident response playbooks and improve response capability
• Implement and enhance internal AI agents and security bots assisting in monitoring, investigations, reporting, and operations
