Software Engineering Manager, Platform Identity - Splunk

The Platform Identity team builds a secure and unified identity foundation powering access across Splunk and Cisco products. They focus on delivering a centralized Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform that is scalable, resilient, and intelligent, operating at the intersection of security, platform engineering, and user experience.

• Significant experience in software engineering leadership and managing high-performing teams.
• Proven ability in driving technical strategy and designing complex distributed systems.
• Experience leading agile development teams and managing deadlines and deliverables.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience applying AI/ML within platform, identity, or security products.
• Background in large-scale platform integration or migration in IAM.
• Familiarity with IAM services from cloud providers like AWS IAM, Azure AD, and Google Cloud Identity.
• Deep expertise in identity and access management protocols: SAML, OpenID Connect (OIDC), OAuth 2.0.
• Knowledge of authorization frameworks such as RBAC, ABAC, and user provisioning via SCIM.
• Experience leading geographically distributed teams.
• Software engineering experience with knowledge of at least one programming language.

• Lead a team of engineers building identity services.
• Define and execute technical strategy for the team.
• Drive architectural direction to ensure secure and scalable solutions.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of innovation and inclusivity.
• Guide the team through complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Partner with product, architecture, and executive teams to prioritize work and ensure company-wide alignment.
