Senior Backend Engineer (Java)

The role is at Mindbox Sp. z o.o., a tech-driven company cooperating with leading enterprises across Europe, focusing on building digital solutions. The project involves working within the banking sector aiming to become a leading Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) provider in the UK.

• Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of Java software development.
• Proven experience with Spring Boot or Micronaut.
• Understanding of Kubernetes and Docker.
• Excellent knowledge of AWS (deployment and configuration).
• Experience with message-driven architectures (Kafka, event sourcing).
• Experience delivering in an agile environment.
• Experience working in a highly secure application environment.
• Ability to act as a subject matter expert and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Understanding how to translate business objectives into data-driven insights.

• Work as part of a core cross-functional mission team to develop core-banking technology.
• Deliver and enhance the NatWest Boxed technology product.
• Support and mentor junior engineers, acting as a subject matter expert.
• Write clean, elegant, reusable, and well-tested code that’s easy to maintain and extend.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to shape the direction of NW Boxed engineering and ensure customer interests are at the heart of key decisions.
• Work across the backend chapter to uphold standards, best practices, and promote innovation.
• Resolve technical issues collaboratively within the team.
