Senior Kong Engineer

The role is within the Platform Engineering team of the client, focusing on scaling and operating an API platform across hybrid cloud environments. The position requires expertise in Kong Gateway, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or Azure.

• Minimum 3 years of experience with Kong Gateway, including at least 1 year with Kong Konnect in production
• Previous experience as part of a platform engineering or infrastructure team
• In-depth understanding of API management, REST APIs, and microservices architecture
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, particularly managing ingress and services via Kong Gateway
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Helm, and GitOps workflows
• Solid understanding of authentication and authorization protocols, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and JWT
• Proficient in scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Python)
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Fluent in both English and Polish (minimum B2 level)
