DevOps / Cloud Engineer (GCP / Kubernetes)

Antal is recruiting for an international technology team focused on a strategic cloud transformation initiative involving a large-scale microservices platform on Google Cloud Platform.

• Several years of experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Engineering role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including deployments, services, ingress, configMaps, secrets, and production troubleshooting.
• Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GKE experience preferred).
• Practical experience deploying and supporting Java and Python applications in containerized environments.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and tooling.
• Experience with observability and monitoring solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo or OpenTelemetry.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
• Strong operational mindset with a focus on reliability, incident response, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in international teams.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have:

• Experience with GCP services such as IAM, VPC, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, Artifact Registry.
• Helm chart development and standardization.
• Experience with Istio or other service mesh technologies.
• Knowledge of container security best practices and tooling.
• Previous involvement in large-scale cloud migration or platform modernization programs.

• Engineer, maintain, and improve a Kubernetes platform running on Google Cloud Platform.
• Support application teams in migrating and deploying microservices to Kubernetes.
• Design, build, and standardize CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications.
• Implement and enhance observability solutions, including monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing.
• Develop dashboards, alerting strategies, and service reliability reporting.
• Participate in production support activities, incident management, root cause analysis, and platform improvement initiatives.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and environment management using Infrastructure as Code.
• Collaborate effectively with globally distributed engineering teams.
• Produce technical documentation and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.
