Senior Database Administrator

Meniga builds financial intelligence for the world's leading banks with over 100 million users across 30+ countries. The company operates behind the scenes, focusing on making banking data meaningful and the user experience personal. Their offices are located in London, Reykjavik, Warsaw, and Cairo.

• Deep, production-hardened expertise in MSSQL including performance tuning, indexing strategies, backup/disaster recovery, security, and troubleshooting under real load.
• Business-minded approach with understanding of client stakes when data layers misbehave.
• Ability to work effectively under constraints typical in on-premises banking environments.
• Experience using AI tools such as Cursor and Claude Code as part of the workflow.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, and ETL processes.
• Experience in the fintech industry.

• Own database reliability end-to-end, including performance, availability, backup/recovery, and capacity planning.
• Drive schema and query design decisions in collaboration with engineering squads.
• Lead performance tuning and troubleshooting of database-heavy systems under real client loads.
• Own migrations and upgrades, including version upgrades and transitioning from MSSQL to PostgreSQL when appropriate.
• Review and maintain a high engineering bar by evaluating schema changes and queries to ensure reliability and data integrity.
