Senior IT Automation Tester

The role is within the Neptune Team of the Master Data Management (MDM) ART at Nordea. The position focuses on developing and maintaining automated tests for enterprise-level Master Data Management solutions, with expertise in REST and SOAP API testing and automation of backend and data distribution processes.

• 6+ years of automated software testing experience in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodology including test planning, execution, defect management, regression testing, and quality improvement.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Hands-on expertise with Java 17+, object-oriented programming, Clean Code principles, and POJO-based design patterns.
• Practical experience with RESTAssured, JUnit 5, and Lombok.
• Solid understanding of REST architecture and SOAP/WSDL contracts.
• Experienced in API testing for REST and SOAP, integration, backend services, and data distribution.
• Familiarity with test reporting tools, especially Allure.
• Proficient in SQL and database testing.
• Experience testing integration solutions including asynchronous flows, Kafka, data pipelines, and event-driven architecture.
• Skilled with test management and defect tracking tools such as qTest and Jira.
• Strong Git skills with branching, pull requests, and code review.
• Hands-on with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or Bamboo.
• Good Agile knowledge including Scrum ceremonies and collaboration.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Nice to have:

• UI testing experience with Selenium or Playwright.

• Design and implement automated tests for APIs, integration processes, and data flows.
• Develop and maintain existing test automation frameworks.
• Create regression tests and integrate them with CI/CD pipelines.
• Support the “Automation First” approach.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, Product Owners, and other teams.
• Support automation for new features and existing products.
• Analyze test results and prepare test evidence.
• Utilize AI and GitHub Copilot to enhance test automation efficiency.
• Mentor less experienced team members in test automation.
