Platform Engineer (Java)

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, maths, physics, or a similar field
• Production fluency in Java or expertise in another backend language (Kotlin, Scala, Python, Go) with readiness to work primarily in Java
• Experience building core systems or foundational platforms
• Experience with distributed systems at meaningful scale
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Fluency in English

Nice to have:

• Background in fintech or high-volume transactional environments
• Experience in startups or scale-ups
• Experience with event sourcing in production
• Contributions to open-source frameworks, libraries, or developer tooling

• Building and scaling core backend systems
• Writing high-throughput, concurrent code at production scale
• Working on problems affecting multiple engineering teams
• Reviewing code and assisting with system design for other engineers
