DevOps Engineer | Mid | Threat Protection

Nord Security is a company developing the NordVPN Threat Protection product, which enhances online security and privacy by protecting users from scams, phishing attempts, malicious activities, and intrusive ads. The product makes the NordVPN app more than a VPN, focusing on privacy, security, and user control.

• Experience as a DevOps, System, or Infrastructure Engineer or similar engineering role
• Proficiency with Linux systems and tools; knowledge of Windows administration is appreciated
• Working knowledge of Git and Git workflows
• Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Bash, Python
• Experience implementing CI/CD principles, understanding build systems and tooling (preferably Make, CMake, Conan, Ninja)
• Understanding software composition: compilation, linking, loading binaries, and dependency management in major operating systems
• Knowledge of virtualization and containerization principles
• Experience with cloud technologies and tooling: configuration as code (Ansible, Terraform), Dockerization, EKS/Kubernetes
• Ownership mindset and desire to understand system interactions beyond immediate expertise
• Critical thinking with professionalism, flexibility, and attention to detail

• Collaborate with the Threat Protection development team to build and automate infrastructure for the product
• Write scripts to expand and maintain automated code delivery and release pipelines using Docker, Gitlab CI, and AWS
• Help build frameworks for automated unit, integration, and E2E tests, and set up various virtual test environments and services
• Design and manage infrastructure for a multi-tenant distributed environment
• Assist with service migration to and within cloud environments such as S3, EC2, EMR, and Kubernetes
• Ensure application of best practices including security, availability, and observability of the infrastructure
