The Identity International team is crucial for Affirm's global strategy, owning Identity for every market outside North America, focusing on ensuring compliant operation across diverse regulatory environments. The team’s scope includes building and expanding Identity Data Management, KYC Verification, and Decisioning capabilities, with a direct impact on approval rates, conversion, and fraud exposure.
Wymagania
- 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin.
- Proven track record of building highly available distributed systems with technologies like AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.
- Experience delivering major features, system components, or deprecating functionality through technical and execution plans.
- Ability to write high-quality, understandable code.
- Comfort working across abstraction levels from low-level language idioms to large system architecture.
- Demonstrated growth through gathering and iterating on feedback from engineering and cross-functional peers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.

- Set technical strategy for the team aligned with business-impacting projects.
- Collaborate across teams including product management, design, and analytics to manage technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs.
- Define and advocate technical solutions and operational processes as a force-multiplier for the team.
- Take ownership of team operations and availability, ensuring proper monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting.
- Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting code review and design standards and advocating beyond the team.
- Provide feedback, guidance and lead by example to develop talent within the team.
