Staff Software Engineer, Web (React)

The Engineering team addresses complex distributed systems and supports multiple products with opportunities to work across domains for continuous skill diversification.

• 7+ years of experience planning, building, and releasing frontend applications with web technologies including React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience building web applications with TypeScript.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working as a full stack engineer.
• Experience working with Node.js.
• Experience working in a large codebase.
• Experience building and/or maintaining an internal UI library.
• Communication and project management skills from collaborating across teams and functional areas.

• Write clean, performant, and maintainable code.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to other team members, including junior engineers.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including backend developers, designers, and product managers.
• Participate in and conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to standards.
• Continuously improve the codebase by identifying areas for refactoring and optimization.

Within structured timeframes, responsibilities include:

Within 1 month:

• Complete Sprout’s New Hire training program.
• Deliver first code change with mentoring.
• Learn deployment processes and Agile roadmap.

Within 3 months:

• Independently own front-end feature delivery.
• Adhere to engineering best practices and team processes.
• Communicate effectively with all disciplines and contribute to retrospectives.

Within 6 months:

• Author technical specifications and collaborate on delivery plans.
• Mentor junior teammates and explain React and TypeScript details.
• Collaborate with product managers for timely, quality deliveries.
• Understand app structure, build, deployment, and customer use cases.

Within 12 months:

• Understand all aspects of the web application and user personas.
• Take end-to-end responsibility for delivering roadmap projects.
• Balance trade-offs in code design between delivery speed and maintainability.
• Identify technical initiatives for the team.

This role is remote within Poland only; candidates outside Poland (EMEA region) cannot be hired at this time. Flexible location includes Kraków office or remote within Poland.
