Automatic Speech Recognition Engineer

• 5+ years of hands-on ASR and speech engineering experience with production/live IVR or voice-channel deployments.
• Proven experience supporting customers directly, ideally in regulated industries such as banking, insurance, or healthcare.
• Strong hands-on experience with ASR platforms such as Kaldi including language modeling, acoustic modeling, grammar/lexicon design, and decoder tuning.
• Solid programming skills in Python preferred; Bash, Java, or C++ also acceptable; comfortable with Linux environments.
• Academic background or equivalent hands-on experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computational Linguistics, or Speech & Language Processing.
• Excellent spoken and written English and strong communication skills for direct customer and partner interactions.
• Ability to independently own ambiguous, production-critical problems, prioritize multiple accounts, and work under demanding deadlines.

• Own end-to-end ASR tuning and grammar/model delivery for live enterprise IVR/voice deployments from requirements through go-live and ongoing optimization.
• Lead root-cause investigation and resolution of production ASR issues, including engagement with internal and external stakeholders under time pressure.
• Design, train, and fine-tune acoustic and language models, including neural approaches, focusing on measurable WER/SER improvement.
• Manage technical relationships for assigned enterprise accounts, conduct customer working sessions, translate technical tradeoffs for non-technical stakeholders, and represent ASR delivery in cross-functional forums.
• Contribute to and scale delivery automation such as grammar-generation pipelines to reduce manual turnaround.
• Operate across production infrastructure and deployment environments across multiple global regions.
