Junior/mid Data Engineer

Falck's Data, Insights & AI department combines data engineering, analytics, AI, automation, and business partnering to support a global healthcare and emergency services organisation. The team has over 60 professionals across Copenhagen and Warsaw hubs working on scalable data and AI solutions primarily focused on ambulance operations in Europe and the US. The role involves interaction with operations, fleet management, contract, and performance teams, using shared standards and frameworks to accelerate delivery across the organization.

• Experience with Python and SQL.
• Experience with Azure, Databricks, PySpark, and Azure Data Factory.
• Ability to build and maintain data pipelines for various common data sources including operational systems differing between countries.
• Good understanding of data modeling concepts and practical application including harmonizing similar data into common models.
• Comfortable using CI/CD pipelines for deployment and pragmatic troubleshooting.
• Awareness of handling sensitive operational and personal data responsibly in line with GDPR, HIPAA, and equivalent regulations.
• Ability to contribute to the implementation of AI solutions.

• Design, build, and maintain core data pipelines and reusable frameworks using PySpark, Python, and SQL on the Databricks platform.
• Work closely with Business Analysts and operational stakeholders in Europe and the US to transform business requirements into robust data solutions.
• Integrate a variety of operational data sources across countries, contracts, and systems into the platform in a standardized and scalable way.
• Build and maintain data models that deliver insights into operational performance.
• Write unit tests, perform peer code reviews, and contribute to technical documentation to ensure code quality.
• Investigate and resolve bugs and performance issues in data solutions and core platform components.
• Contribute to team-level standards for code, templates, and infrastructure to improve robustness and ensure safe handling of sensitive data.
