6+ years’ experience in software development in both Waterfall and Agile environments.
Strong back-end development experience, including system integration and/or migration.
Front-end development experience is a plus.
Knowledge of DevOps, Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD), Agile control Framework.
Strong working experience with Java, Spring Framework, and RESTful APIs.
Exposure to Spring Cloud and/or MuleSoft is a plus.
Development experience on Seeburger BIS, EDI is a plus.
Experience with databases such as Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL.
Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and development automation.
Familiarity with tools like Confluence, Jira, Jenkins, Ansible, Git/GitHub, SonarQube (or equivalent).
Exposure to Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, and containerisation (Docker) is a plus.
Familiar with test automation frameworks such as JUnit.
Experience with production support, incident management, and improving service reliability is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to mentor others, share knowledge, and raise engineering standards.
Forward-thinking with ability to make sound technical decisions aligned to strategy with strong accountability.

Translate Group and Wholesale strategy into well-designed technical solutions meeting business needs.
Own design and development across the full software lifecycle, producing secure and maintainable code aligned with HSBC standards.
Support delivery planning and execution in Agile and/or Waterfall teams, collaborating with developers, testers, analysts, and architects.
Identify and reduce technical debt to improve code quality, performance, resilience, and reusability.
Work with business stakeholders, SMEs, and Solution Architects to clarify requirements and align to target architecture.
Provide hands-on guidance and informal mentoring to junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and feedback.
Contribute to DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and operational readiness.
Participate in support activities such as incident investigation, problem management, root-cause analysis, and drive permanent fixes.
