RedHat Openshift Application Administrator [K/M]

The current project involves delivering IT solutions for a European Union agency, covering design, implementation, maintenance, and development of IT services and systems. Responsibilities include implementing new ICT solutions and supporting existing systems across various technologies, encompassing corporate architecture, information security, and IT service management.

• Minimum 3 years of practical experience with applications on OpenShift (deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, scaling)
• Experience deploying and maintaining containerized applications on Red Hat OpenShift
• Strong knowledge of YAML, Helm charts, and OpenShift Templates
• Knowledge of OpenShift application model: Projects/Namespaces, Service Accounts, Secrets, ConfigMaps
• Practical knowledge of application security including Pod Security Admission/Standards, Security Context Constraints, Network Policies, image signing/scanning
• Experience exposing applications using Routes, Services, Ingress, ExternalName, TLS, and API Gateway patterns
• Experience with application scaling and optimization techniques such as HPA, VPA, resource requests/limits, and probes
• Experience with monitoring and logging applications using OpenShift tools, Prometheus, Grafana, and application metrics
• Knowledge of GitOps/ArgoCD and Helm for deploying changes from Git repositories to namespaces/applications
• Scripting and automation skills with Ansible, Python, and Helm
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for OpenShift applications (e.g., Jenkins, ArgoCD)

Certification expectations:

• Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator or equivalent certification
• Alternatively, an additional 3 years of OpenShift administration experience beyond the minimum role requirements

• Configure, deploy, and maintain containerized applications on Red Hat OpenShift using manifests, Helm, Templates, and Operators
• Manage application projects/namespaces (e.g., RBAC, quotas, limit ranges, and resource management)
• Configure application sharing and routing (e.g., Routes, Services, TLS, external access, load balancing)
• Implement and maintain application security (e.g., SCC, Pod Security, Network Policies, secret rotation)
• Scale and optimize applications (resource tuning, performance troubleshooting)
• Support development teams with issues related to pods, logs, events, restarts, and rollbacks
• Collaborate on requests for new application functionalities and resources
• Monitor application health and performance (alerts, dashboards, capacity planning)
• Prepare and update application documentation, SOPs, and runbooks
