The company is 60+ people, fully remote, and AI-native, using AI in daily work. Their backend serves as the cloud spine of physical devices, connecting firmware with data pipelines, where architectural decisions critically impact sensor data.
Wymagania
- 7+ years of backend development experience, with significant time spent leading technical direction
- Strong production-level skills with Node.js
- Deep, hands-on expertise with AWS services including EKS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Timestream, and S3
- Experience building and maintaining infrastructure using Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, and Terraform
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and data pipelines
- Experience with MQTT or similar IoT messaging protocols
- Designed CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
- English proficiency at B2+ level, both written and spoken, to interact with US-based clients
- Ability to translate business needs into technical decisions and communicate them to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong opinions, but flexibility to update views based on evidence
Nice to have:
- Previous IoT or connected devices projects, especially involving telemetry at scale
- Production experience with Golang alongside Node.js
- Experience with observability stacks including tracing, metrics, and structured logging
- Security mindset for cloud-connected devices covering secrets management, mTLS, and OTA updates
- Genuine curiosity about device-side interactions beyond cloud backend
Obowiązki
- Own and evolve the backend architecture for IoT projects including data ingestion pipelines, API design, and infrastructure decisions
- Make technical trade-off decisions and defend them to the team and clients
- Design and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS services such as EKS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Timestream, and S3 with production-grade reliability
- Lead technical discussions including RFCs, architecture reviews, and post-mortems proactively
- Mentor other backend engineers to improve code quality and establish patterns
- Collaborate closely with firmware engineers, mobile developers, QA, project managers, and clients
- Integrate AI tools as part of the daily workflow
- Challenge product and technical assumptions, even if difficult
