Senior Automation Engineer

Nomagic is a company on a mission to teach robots the real world, working with Artificial Intelligence systems deployed in industry and developing smart robots. The team combines world-class research with top-notch engineering and has members from companies like Google, Criteo, Climate Corp, ABB, Softbank Robotics, and Dematic.

• Experience in building automation systems and integrating them into robotized cells or production lines, including designing, building, and testing control systems.
• Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming using Siemens TIA Portal and WinCC Unified; experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT is a plus.
• Knowledge of TIA Portal Openness and Ignition HMI (Inductive Automation) is a plus.
• Process simulation experience and knowledge of Siemens environment modularization and revisioning is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with automation components (sensors, actuators, controllers) and communication protocols.
• Hands-on experience with EPLAN is a strong plus.
• Strong organizational skills and experience in end-to-end project management is a strong plus.
• Track record of working with industrial robots such as ABB is a plus.
• Experience in maintenance or service teams is a plus.
• Effective communication skills with internal and external partners in cross-functional teams.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of time to customer sites.
• Engineering degree preferably in Automation, Robotics or Electronics.
• Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of French and/or German is a plus.
• Highly energetic and hands-on attitude with a drive to deliver solutions.

Robot integration and development:

• Work on robotized cells end-to-end from electric connections to integrating hardware components including mechanical parts, electrical & pneumatic components, actuators, electronics, safety.
• Help design integration of Nomagic robots into customer production lines.
• Maintain documentation such as PLC code and electric schematics.
• Deliver robots to customers, performing hands-on integration at customer sites with teams and contractors.
• Debug problems, perform maintenance and service activities on robots and equipment on customer sites.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers to ensure hardware and software integration.
• Create PLC programs.
• Design and program safety systems.
• Design and build simple prototypes for robotic solutions.
• Order parts and components required to build Nomagic robots.
