Principal Software Engineer

SimCorp is a leading provider of integrated investment management solutions with over 3,000 employees worldwide. It operates in the FinTech industry, serving investment and asset managers globally. The company is an independent subsidiary of the Deutsche Börse Group and recently merged with Axioma to enhance its product offering. The role is within the Investment Operations Product Area, focusing on enterprise products for financial institutions.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with combined Dev QA responsibilities.
• Expertise in .NET / C# and working knowledge of Angular.
• Impactful leadership skills improving efficiency and project success.
• Extensive experience in test automation (E2E, API, Integration) and test strategy.
• Solid experience in architecting and developing enterprise-scale applications.
• Extensive knowledge of Cloud and On-Prem infrastructures with Microsoft Azure experience.
• Deep expertise in CI/CD pipelines and tools, including Git, TeamCity, and Azure DevOps.
• Thorough understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and Domain-Driven Design.
• Familiarity with XP practices: TDD, pair programming, continuous integration.
• Experience with relational databases (SQL).
• Willingness to learn APL with team support.
• Proficient English communication skills (Upper-Intermediate or higher).
• Ability to mentor, motivate, and guide teams towards technical excellence.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Azure or similar cloud platforms.
• Background in FinTech or capital markets.
• Knowledge and experience in financial domain and derivatives (options, futures, swaps, etc.).

• Provide technical leadership in design, development, and testing.
• Define and own test architecture and quality strategy at the team level.
• Balance active coding in C#, Angular, and APL with guiding automation initiatives.
• Drive adoption of automation-first practices across the team.
• Monitor coverage, test metrics, and quality KPIs to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Mentor and coach engineers in development, automation, and testing skills.
• Represent QA Dev combined approach in cross-team forums.
• Collaborate with stakeholders (POs, TLs, architects) to align technical and quality goals.
• Conduct in-depth root cause analysis for complex defects and ensure preventive actions.
• Advocate for and implement improvements in tools, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering processes.
• Continuously assess and improve engineering processes and recommend new tools and technologies.
• Represent the team in technical forums and contribute to cross-team knowledge exchange.
