Java Software Engineer, hybrid, Officer

Charles River Development (CRD) is the FinTech division of State Street. CRD contributes to the State Street Alpha® Platform, a front-to-back investment platform solution. The CRD Engineering organization is transforming the platform by moving towards cloud-based technology utilizing Microsoft Azure, Kafka, and Snowflake. CRD has grown over 135% in headcount over the last 5 years and is expanding product capabilities in new areas.

• 2-4 years of experience in Java development, preferably in FinTech
• B.S. degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field; M.S. degree preferred
• Experience in cloud native services development on Azure
• Knowledge of SQL and SQL Server/Oracle databases with relational database experience
• Experience with C#/.NET is a strong asset
• Experience with event orchestration is a strong asset
• Front-end development experience with React is nice to have

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug large and complex software enhancements and solutions within Charles River’s domain
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create simple and sustainable software solutions
• Direct problem solving for projects or major phases to resolve software technical issues
• Develop, test, debug, and implement software using Java, SQL, JavaScript, and related technologies
• Provide guidance and critical code review analysis
• Write unit and automation tests to ensure product quality
• Improve development test methodologies and frameworks
• Conduct manual and automation testing
• Provide troubleshooting on large, mission critical client implementations
• Participate in agile processes by attending standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
• Plan and coordinate cross-team activities
• Mentor and guide on designs from Senior Engineers
