Senior Security Software Engineer - Data, Assistant Vice President

State Street is a major financial institution serving institutional investors worldwide. The role is part of the Platform Security Solutions organisation in the Technology Platform Engineering & Operations division, working with multiple internally developed distributed systems, portals, and data warehouses serving a large number of IT users and assets in one of the world's largest banks.

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform engineering
• Hands-on experience with on-prem and cloud (Azure and AWS) data environments
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or similar
• Advanced scripting skills (Powershell or Python)
• Experience with platforms like PowerBI, Databricks, Snowflake
• Understanding of enterprise infrastructure including servers, storage, networking, access control, and deployment environments
• Strong experience in working with APIs
• Very good communication skills
• Proficiency with SDLC tooling such as GIT, CI/CD pipelines, Jira

Nice to have:

• Experience with public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and migrating or re-architecting workloads from on-prem to cloud-native
• Experience working with ServiceNow API
• Previous experience working in a regulated industry
• Demonstrated fluency in using LLMs to enhance engineering workflows

• Take technical ownership of all data engineering aspects across on-prem and cloud products
• Build and optimize scalable data pipelines, architectures, data models, and datasets
• Build production-grade ETL or ELT pipelines
• Work with APIs
• Translate non-technical requirements into robust solutions
• Use SDLC tooling such as GIT, CI/CD pipelines, and Jira

The role requires a minimum of three days per week working from the office.
