Software Engineer - QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey

QuantumBlack AI by McKinsey is a multidisciplinary group of software engineers, AI engineers, data scientists, and technology consultants passionate about creating industry-shaping products and tools. The role involves collaborating across diverse industries and technologies as part of McKinsey & Company.

• Undergraduate or master’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 2-8 years of experience developing full-stack applications with readable, testable, maintainable, and scalable code.
• Hands-on experience and willingness to learn frontend (TypeScript, React, Angular, Vue, Next.js, Tailwind), backend (Python, Node.js, Java/Spring, C#/.NET), and databases (SQL, NoSQL, vector databases, ETL).
• Experience with LLM frameworks, prompt orchestration, agent frameworks, MCPs, evaluation frameworks.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), including Docker and CI/CD.
• Strong focus on automated testing, logging, monitoring, and system reliability.
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Exceptional time management in a complex and largely autonomous environment.

• Collaborate with clients across industries to deliver digital solutions.
• Develop software products and services from the ground up.
• Mentor client teams on engineering best practices, user-centric design, and Agile values.
• Participate in cross-functional problem-solving sessions with client leaders.
• Help build technical capabilities and cultures needed to sustain digital products.
• Work collaboratively with other developers and technical/non-technical team members.
• Actively participate in Agile sprint ceremonies.
• Pair program collaboratively with other developers.
