Head of Engineering

Benefit Systems SA is seeking a senior Head of Engineering to lead the development of the Multi.Life product, focusing on Backend, Frontend, and Mobile software development. The product supports improving quality of life through development, health, and habit-building tools. The role involves collaboration with teams in AI/ML, DevOps, Architecture, Data Engineering, product, and business.

• Extensive experience building and developing digital products in an online environment
• Managed Backend, Frontend, and Mobile domains
• Built and developed technology teams and leaders
• Combine perspectives of architecture, quality, delivery, and business effectively
• Ability to build strategic partnerships with business
• Designed complex end-to-end IT systems
• Comfortable working with modern stack including API, frontend, backend, mobile
• Experience in product organizations during growth/startup/scale-up phases
• Experience collaborating with DevOps, Data, AI/ML, and Architecture areas
• Programming background to establish technological authority and collaborate with engineering teams
• Advantageous: experience with platform products, e-commerce, mobile, large-scale B2B/B2C, knowledge of DMP/CDP, personalization, and product data

• Create and implement software development strategy for a growth-phase product
• Develop Backend, Frontend, and Mobile engineering organization
• Build strong technology teams and effective collaboration models with product and business
• Design architecture ensuring scalability and consistency of solutions
• Manage portfolio of technology initiatives and end-to-end projects
• Ensure software quality and delivery efficiency
• Implement solutions enhancing system reliability, observability, and performance
• Collaborate closely with business to maximize delivered solution value
• Identify and address technological and organizational risks
• Integrate AI/ML, Data, DevOps, and Architecture competencies around product goals
• Lead change by simplifying, scaling, and professionalizing processes
• Build environment of accountability, clear priorities, and team impact on product
