FinOps Cloud Engineer

Mindbox is a tech-driven company that connects top IT talents with technology projects for leading enterprises across Europe.

• Hands-on expertise with at least two public cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, GCP.
• Deep understanding of logging and observability architectures and their cost implications.
• Strong experience in automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CI/CD with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps, plus scripting in Python and Bash.
• Practical knowledge of FinOps frameworks including cost allocation, showback models, and governance.
• Ability to analyse data at scale and produce detailed savings forecasts and business cases.
• Experience operating in highly governed enterprise environments aligned with compliance and risk standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder influencing skills.

Nice to have:

• Certifications in Azure, AWS, GCP or FinOps Foundation Certified Practitioner.
• Experience in financial services or regulated enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with policy-as-code frameworks and automation for governance enforcement.

• Identify cost optimisation levers (e.g., ingestion, retention, tiering, sampling rules) and prioritise actions by ROI.
• Build and deploy automation and IaC for logging and storage cost optimisation, including rollback and post-validation processes.
• Leverage cloud-native monitoring and logging tools to analyse large-scale usage data and uncover cost drivers.
• Document and deliver structured optimisation proposals with measurable savings projections.
• Improve tagging and allocation models to increase chargeback and showback accuracy.
• Define and maintain cloud guardrails and policies such as retention standards, quotas, and alerts.
• Host optimisation workshops with platform and application teams to agree on actions and targets.
• Produce executive-ready reporting on cost trends, savings, and governance compliance.
• Prepare runbooks, implement monitoring for cost regressions, and create automated drift detection.
