Senior Data Engineer

Cisco's Webex Engineering Group builds collaboration products like Slido, Webex Meetings, Webex Calling, and Webex Contact Center. The team is based in Bratislava operating on a hybrid working model, focusing on powering hybrid working patterns with immersive user experiences.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Extensive professional experience in data engineering with leadership on large-scale data infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in distributed data processing frameworks, specifically Spark and/or Flink, with knowledge of streaming architectures.
• Advanced expertise in data modeling, database design, or performance optimization for large-scale analytical systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience designing and managing production environments with Apache Pinot and Apache Iceberg.
• Experience architecting and deploying data solutions in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Proven leadership of technical initiatives and cross-functional global teams.
• Experience integrating AI/ML models into production data pipelines for predictive analytics.
• Experience managing lifecycle of high-availability data platforms.
• History of mentoring engineers and fostering high-performance teams.
• Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Define and complete long-term technical strategy and architectural standards for the Partner Hub Analytics platform.
• Lead design and delivery of scalable data pipelines using Apache Pinot, Apache Iceberg, Flink, and Spark.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship fostering technical excellence.
• Collaborate with product management and leadership to translate business requirements into data solutions.
• Establish standards for data quality, observability, and system reliability.
• Anticipate data engineering trends and evaluate new technologies.
• Lead enterprise-wide initiatives on data governance, architecture, and development lifecycles.
