Senior Software Engineer, Compute

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience including hands-on with large-scale distributed data systems or compute engines like Apache Spark.
• Proficient in Python or another mainstream OOP language.
• Familiar with the modern data stack including dbt, Databricks, Airflow, or equivalents.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks in production, especially Unity Catalog, cluster policies, serverless compute, and cloud cost optimization at scale.
• Solid AWS fundamentals including IAM, S3, EC2, networking, and infrastructure as code, ideally Terraform.
• Treat CI/CD, testing, and observability as core engineering principles.

• Design, build, and operate self-serve solutions based on Databricks, Airflow, and Spark infrastructure.
• Keep over 800 daily Databricks jobs reliable, observable, and cost-efficient.
• Scale Looker reporting and ad-hoc querying on shared warehouses, managing routing, cluster sizing, and performance-cost trade-offs for over 4,000 employees.
• Build AI surfaces over the platform, including standing up Databricks MCP servers and developing self-service tooling.
• Collaborate directly with Analytics Engineering, Data Science, ML, Experimentation, Ingestion, Governance, and SRE Data teams.
