Staff Forward Deployed Engineer, GenAI, Google Cloud

Google Cloud is a leading cloud provider offering advanced AI products including frontier Gemini models and the complete Vertex AI platform. This role is embedded within customer environments to deploy AI systems and provide feedback to improve Google Cloud's AI products.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8 years experience building and shipping production AI solutions using Python, TypeScript, or comparable languages.
• Experience leading technical sessions with stakeholders to define AI and hardware infrastructure needs.
• Experience designing and building AI systems on cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience building data pipelines with structured, unstructured data, vector databases, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures.

Preferred:

• Master’s or PhD in AI, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience implementing multi-agent systems using frameworks like LangGraph, CrewAI, or Google’s Agent Development Kit (ADK) and patterns such as ReAct and hierarchical delegation.
• Knowledge of large language model metrics and optimization techniques for state management and tracing.

• Serve as the lead developer for AI applications, transitioning prototypes to production-grade agentic workflows.
• Architect and code integration between Google AI products and customer infrastructure, including APIs and legacy systems.
• Build evaluation pipelines and observability frameworks to ensure AI system performance around accuracy, safety, and latency.
• Identify repeatable technical patterns and convert them into reusable modules or feature requests.
• Mentor talent, collaborate with customer teams, and influence cross-functional strategies to enhance technical capabilities.
