Senior Staff Technical Lead Manager, Driver Validation

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company focused on building the Waymo Driver—the world's most experienced driver—to improve access to mobility and save lives. The Waymo Driver powers a fully autonomous ride-hail service and is applied to various vehicle platforms, having driven over 100 million miles on public roads and provided over ten million rider-only trips across 15+ U.S. states.

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of backend or infrastructure experience
• 5+ years of technical leadership experience
• Proven experience driving strategic alignment and consensus across complex, cross-functional organizations

• Experience with C++ or willingness to engage in professional development to stay current
• Experience working in environments with nontechnical team members
• Experience with operations tooling, developer productivity, or developer tools
• Experience with simulation environments

• Help build and evolve mission-critical horizontal infrastructure and tooling that supports all commercialization systems
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop systems and processes as business needs grow and evolve
• Scale systems to meet demands of commercial expansion and increasing complexity
• Solve complex problems such as world simulation for regression testing and software evaluation managing autonomous vehicle fleets
