Senior Software Engineer, Embedded Systems, Pixel Core Bring Up

Google is a technology company developing next-generation technologies affecting billions of users. The Core Bring Up team focuses on hardware-software co-design for Pixel devices, collaborating across multiple technical teams to enable seamless Pixel Software bring-up. The Platforms and Devices team works on computing software platforms and first-party devices combining Google AI, software, and hardware.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience with architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment for Android BSP, Linux device drivers, Linux kernel modules.
• Experience in firmware development (RTOS, bare metal).

• Write and test product or system development code.
• Act as the primary software lead for Pixel Software on new silicon programs, driving software readiness, execution, and risk mitigation across pre- and post-silicon milestones.
• Drive software readiness to achieve production-stack Boot-to-Home on early silicon.
• Partner with Emulation/Simulation teams to define software requirements and deliver stable platforms for early development.
• Lead wafer and Silicon on Desk bring-up in the lab, delivering Configuration Data Table (CDT), partition tables, hardware documentation, and Flashstation/flashing tooling support.
