Senior Lighting Artist (Fixed-Term Contract)

Fool's Theory is a game development company based in Bielsko-Biała, Poland, known for creating games such as Seven: The Days Long Gone and The Thaumaturge. The company is collaborating with CD PROJEKT RED on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past expansion.

• At least 5 years of experience as a Lighting Artist in the gaming industry.
• Experience in AAA production.
• Excellent knowledge of lighting tools and pipelines.
• Excellent understanding of direct and indirect light, luminance, color theory, and composition.
• Solid knowledge of technical and performance limitations of real-time lighting.
• Self-driven to complete tasks timely with high quality.
• Ability to cooperate well with others.
• Refraining from using AI generative tools for imagery.
• Fluency in English.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with Lumen and Unreal Engine 5 lighting workflows.
• Experience with custom engines.

• Creating dramatic and compelling lighting that supports photorealistic rendering.
• Using light to establish depth and layering in scenes while supporting story and characters.
• Enhancing environmental storytelling through lighting.
• Deconstructing lighting and textures in a physically based renderer for accurate color values.
• Maintaining artistic style consistency with the defined visual style for the game.
• Collaborating constructively with Designers, Programmers, and Technical Artists.
• Ensuring all lighting deliverables are completed fully and on schedule.
• Producing and maintaining documentation for asset production in line with rendering standards.
