System Engineer/Architect

Ericsson is a global leader in 5G technology and deployment. The role is within the RAN Baseband System Management team working on advanced features for Radio Networks, signal processing, radio resource management, physical layer algorithms, multi-antenna systems, cloud deployments, and 5G software simulations. The team collaborates internationally, including stakeholders based in the United States, and contributes to 3GPP standardization and innovation in 5G and 6G readiness.

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or equivalent knowledge.
• Work experience in relevant areas such as 5G NR.
• Analytical mindset with creativity and innovation interest.
• Dedication, self-driven, and cooperative.
• Interest in continuous learning and skill growth.
• Good knowledge of 5G NR mobile communication systems, especially Physical Layer and Radio Resource Management.
• Product development knowledge with understanding of Lean and Agile methods.
• Software development skills, including Java, C, and C++, to use and develop simulators.
• Knowledge of simulation environments and tools like MATLAB is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Perform systems studies primarily in Radio Resource Management, including Scheduling, Link Adaptation, time critical communication, and control channel management.
• Specify system features, functions, test cases, algorithms, use cases, and parameter settings addressing legacy interactions.
• Develop network-level software simulations for 5G features and algorithm performance analysis.
• Drive continuous improvements of products, simulation tools, and processes.
• Lead solution package study and participate in system trouble report teams.
• Contribute to 5G standards advancements towards 6G readiness.
• File invention disclosures and patents to support innovation and Ericsson IPR.
• Support 5G system verification and perform test result analysis.
• Assist deployment of new 5G products and features into customer networks, including troubleshooting and analysis.
• Collaborate on new features, simulations, and improvements with cross-functional and international teams.
