Senior Full Stack Engineer (AI Experiences, Python + React)

• 5+ years professional experience in full stack development with production ownership of backend services and frontend applications at scale.
• Strong full-stack skills with the ability to design, contribute to, and review production code on both Python backend and React frontend equally.
• Proficiency with Python 3.12+, FastAPI, async I/O, Pydantic models, and Pythonic API design.
• Depth in React (TypeScript) including component design, hooks, state management (Context, Redux, Zustand, or equivalent), and large codebases.
• Experience consuming AI/LLM APIs: handling JSON outputs, streaming responses, timeouts, retries, and graceful degradation on failures or low confidence.
• Knowledge of microservice and REST API architecture, versioning, backward compatibility, and Backend-For-Frontend layer responsibilities.
• Experience with consumer-driven contract testing (Pact or equivalent) for API contracts across AI service, backend, and frontend.
• Kubernetes-aware service design including readiness/liveness probes, graceful shutdown, resource limits, and horizontal pod autoscaling.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and GitOps using GitHub Actions, multi-stage Docker builds, and ArgoCD or equivalents.
• Testing expertise across stack: pytest for backend, Jest and React Testing Library for frontend, integration and contract tests.
• Accessibility knowledge: WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, semantic HTML, ARIA patterns, and screen reader testing for AI-driven UI.
• Experience mentoring mid-level engineers and contributing to technical direction.

• Build AI-related end-to-end journeys using FastAPI async services and BFF-layer components on the backend and React (TypeScript) web and React Native mobile interfaces on the frontend.
• Integrate platform AI and agent services into domain workflows, handling multi-step AI calls, structured outputs, confidence thresholds, fallback paths, and human-in-the-loop scenarios.
• Surface AI output clearly and safely in the UI including structured summaries, conversational companions, voice flows, streaming responses, and uncertain result handling.
• Own and maintain the API contract between AI integration, backend, and frontend, ensuring versioning, consumer-driven stability across releases.
• Contribute to service and component architecture decisions: orchestration patterns, conversational state management, data fetching, and integration with core insurance systems.
• Partner with AI specialist teams to give feedback on API shape, latency, output structure, and failure modes without owning the models or prompts.
• Adopt and contribute to central platform's shared Python frameworks, Pydantic models, async patterns, and shared design system.
• Apply and improve performance and accessibility standards: streaming, latency handling, code splitting, render performance, and WCAG 2.1 AA compliance for AI-driven interfaces.
• Instrument AI journeys for observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Application Insights, OpenTelemetry: structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, error tracking.
• Work within CI/CD pipelines, Helm charts, and ArgoCD deployments; configure Kubernetes-aware service behavior including probes, graceful shutdowns, resource requests, and HPA.
• Mentor mid-level engineers via code review, pairing, and design discussions.
• Participate in incident response and follow-up improvements for AI journeys.
