Software Engineer, Autonomous Security - ThousandEyes

Cisco ThousandEyes is a Digital Assurance platform that empowers organizations to deliver flawless digital experiences across every network by using AI and cloud, internet, and enterprise network telemetry data. It is deeply integrated with Cisco’s Networking, Security, Collaboration, and Observability portfolios to help customers deploy at scale and deliver AI-powered assurance insights.

• 3+ years experience developing production software, backend services, or automated tooling using Python or Go.
• Hands-on experience with containerizing applications, managing Kubernetes deployments, and building automated CI/CD or GitOps pipelines such as ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Experience implementing secure coding practices, applying OWASP Top 10 mitigation strategies, and remediating CVEs in cloud environments.
• Practical experience integrating Large Language Model (LLM) APIs and agentic frameworks into software applications.

Preferred qualifications:

• Familiarity with vector databases like Pinecone or Milvus for security context retrieval.
• Familiarity with "Policy as Code" using OPA/Rego.

• Build and fine-tune LLM-based AI agents for automated vulnerability research and code analysis.
• Develop self-healing pipelines to generate, test, and deploy security patches and dependency updates using Kargo and ArgoCD.
• Design AI-driven logic to detect anomalous traffic and autonomously update WAF rules or service mesh configurations to mitigate threats.
• Integrate AI security tools into CI/CD processes, ensuring seamless automated security.
• Connect security scanning tools like Snyk and Wiz with AI agents to prioritize and resolve alerts without manual intervention.
