Network Engineer (CDN/Akamai)

• Hands-on administration of Akamai CDN including Property Manager, caching strategies, request routing, origin management, and performance optimization.
• Operating Akamai WAF (App & API Protector or Kona) including policy design, tuning, false-positive management, and incident response.
• Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, DNS, caching behaviour, headers, and request lifecycle from client to origin.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting using HAR files, curl, browser developer tools, and edge logs.
• Experience with Azure networking including Application Gateway, Load Balancers, NSGs, DNS, and traffic routing.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues across edge, network, and application layers.
• Clear communication of technical concepts and production of high-quality documentation for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have:

• Experience with bot management and DDoS mitigation.
• Experience in multi-CDN environments such as CloudFront, Cloudflare, or Tencent CDN.
• Knowledge of Terraform (including the Akamai provider) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and API-driven configuration management.
• Working experience in highly regulated enterprise environments with strong operational and security controls.

• Own CDN delivery including caching strategy, request routing, origin management, failover, and performance optimization.
• Manage and improve Akamai WAF policies including rule design, tuning, false-positive analysis, and support live security incidents.
• Configure and operate DNS and Global Traffic Management for resilient routing, traffic distribution, load balancing, and high availability.
• Manage TLS certificates and maintain secure delivery standards on the edge platform.
• Configure and troubleshoot Azure networking components such as Application Gateway, Load Balancers, NSGs, DNS, and traffic routing.
• Investigate complex production issues using logs, monitoring platforms, HAR files, curl, and diagnostic tools.
• Act as a senior technical escalation point during incidents impacting availability, performance, or edge security.
• Review technical designs, contribute engineering best practices, and share knowledge across the engineering team.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge articles.
