Senior Software Engineer

HSBC Technology Poland is recruiting for a senior software engineering position within their DHP team, focusing on platform engineering and developer experience.

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related discipline.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in leadership or technical lead roles focused on DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE.
• Solid understanding of internet operations including HTTP, DNS, TLS, load balancing, reverse proxies, service meshes, and API gateways in microservice architectures.
• Strong programming skills in structured and OOP paradigms using Java, JavaScript, Python, or Clojure.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and InfluxDB; familiarity with time-series databases and data visualization.
• Proven experience managing critical production incidents proactively.

Nice to have:

• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with KVM and VMware virtualization technologies.

• Partner with Product Owners to understand requirements and break them down into deliverable items.
• Design and build robust, scalable microservices with high observability and supportability, following DevOps and Agile principles.
• Own deliverables end-to-end, from design through deployment, meeting timelines.
• Provide rapid production support and root cause analysis on incidents, driving long-term fixes.
• Act as a trusted technical consultant for platform users, resolving queries and unblocking teams.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional IT teams and coordinate stakeholder activities.
• Proactively manage technical debt and maintain security and vulnerability posture.
• Support and mentor junior team members.
