Staff Software Engineer (Backend & AI)

Our client operates a must-have platform for intelligent marketing automation serving customers from over 170 countries. The Kraków Hub is a center for technical leadership evolving a large-scale SaaS platform focused on personalized marketing, transactional emails, and CRM interactions.

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with technical leadership in complex SaaS or distributed systems.
• Deep backend experience, especially in Python, with valuable knowledge of PHP.
• Strong system design skills balancing delivery speed, reliability, and scalability.
• Advanced hands-on AI engineering experience, including production LLM integrations and autonomous workflows.
• Ability to explain technical trade-offs and influence without direct authority.
• Experience with AWS, CI/CD, and observability tooling.
• Experience with data stores like MySQL, Redis, and DynamoDB.

• Act as a trusted technical advisor for backend architecture, system design, and engineering standards.
• Design and improve scalable backend services focused on Python and the existing PHP platform.
• Architect and deliver AI-powered capabilities including LLM integrations and agentic workflows.
• Work directly with product pods on priority initiatives and complex technical tasks.
• Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and architectural bottlenecks.
• Evaluate and introduce AI-assisted development practices.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and Design to align technical decisions with business goals.
• Mentor engineers through design discussions, pairing, and code reviews.

Nice to have:

• Experience with React or Ember.
• Background in marketing automation or CRM.
• Familiarity with AI engineering standards such as the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
