Software Engineer

HSBC Service Delivery is a company based in Kraków, Poland, operating in the financial services industry. The role is part of the DHP team, focusing on platform engineering and developer experience to support infrastructure and development integration.

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related discipline.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, focused on DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE.
• Strong understanding of internet mechanics and HTTP including DNS, TLS, load balancing, reverse proxies, service meshes, and API gateways in microservice architectures.
• Strong programming skills in one or more of: Java, JavaScript, Python, or Clojure.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and InfluxDB; familiarity with time-series databases and data visualization concepts.
• Proactive mindset to identify problems and performance bottlenecks early.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.

• Partner with Product Owners to understand requirements and break them into deliverable items.
• Design and build robust, scalable microservices with high observability and supportability following DevOps and Agile principles.
• Own deliverables from design through deployment and meet timelines.
• Provide rapid production support, conduct root cause analysis on incidents, and implement long-term fixes.
• Act as a technical consultant for platform users, resolving queries and unblocking teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and coordinate stakeholder activities.
• Manage technical debt and maintain security and vulnerability posture.
• Mentor junior developers and promote a high-performing team culture.
