Java Developer

Scalo delivers software projects supporting partners in business development across domains like technology consulting, software development, embedded systems, cloud solutions, data management, and dedicated project teams.

• Minimum 5 years commercial experience developing backend applications in Java at senior level
• Strong knowledge of Java 11+, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot 3.5+
• Practical experience designing and developing microservice and hexagonal architectures
• Experience applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and design patterns
• Practical knowledge of system integrations via REST, SOAP, and Apache Kafka
• Experience with JPA, Hibernate, and relational databases PostgreSQL and Oracle
• Familiarity with Hazelcast or Redis
• Understanding patterns and mechanisms for service resilience in distributed systems
• Practical knowledge of software design principles: SOLID, DRY, and KISS
• Experience designing and implementing various software tests
• Ability to diagnose problems and optimize application performance
• Familiarity with tools and processes including Maven, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to effectively use AI tools in software development
• General knowledge of processes characteristic to the banking and financial sector

Nice to have:

• Experience on projects for banks or financial institutions
• Experience designing highly available, scalable distributed systems
• Knowledge of monitoring and profiling Java applications
• Experience in modernizing backend solutions and developing complex enterprise systems

• Design, develop, and maintain backend solutions using Java 11+ and Spring Boot 3.5+
• Develop systems based on microservice and hexagonal architecture
• Design solutions following Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and software design best practices
• Implement and develop system integrations using REST, SOAP, and Apache Kafka
• Design communication mechanisms and resilience in distributed systems
• Develop data access layers using JPA, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, and Oracle
• Use Hazelcast or Redis for data processing optimization
• Apply software design patterns and principles like SOLID, DRY, and KISS
• Design and implement software tests ensuring solution quality
• Diagnose, analyze, and optimize backend application performance
• Utilize AI tools supporting software design, implementation, and testing
• Collaborate on automation of build and deployment processes using Maven, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD
• Work in a hybrid mode, approximately one day per week at client offices across major Polish cities
