Senior IBM i (AS/400) Storage Replication & High Availability Engineer

You will be working for a client who is a leader in the banking industry, focusing on safeguarding and optimizing their core banking system with storage-based replication for high availability and disaster resilience.

• 7+ years of experience in IBM i (AS/400) systems administration and replication projects.
• Hands-on experience with storage-based replication technologies such as IASP, PowerHA SystemMirror for i, and SAN-level copy solutions (Metro Mirror, Global Mirror).
• Strong troubleshooting skills with logical replication tools like Precisely MIMIX or Maxava.
• Experience with HA/DR design, testing, and failover processes in regulated banking environments.
• Fluent English for collaboration with international teams.

Nice to have:

• Experience with IBM Power hardware and IBM Storage solutions (FlashSystem, DS8000).
• Scripting or tooling expertise with CL and SQL services for replication health and alerting.
• Experience with French or other European banks running AS/400 cores.
• Relevant IBM i or PowerHA certifications.

• Implement storage-based replication solutions between two IBM i sites following design specifications.
• Configure and test SAN and fiber link setups including synchronization, cutover, and failover.
• Manage migration from MIMIX replication ensuring data consistency and minimal disruption.
• Develop and deploy monitoring and alert systems for replication issues.
• Provide advice and assist implementation of active-active or higher availability architectures.
• Create detailed runbooks for switchover, failback, and troubleshooting replication failures.
• Coordinate with change management processes for core banking systems compliance.
