Senior Linux/Unix DevOps Engineer – Enterprise Infrastructure

Our client is a leader in enterprise infrastructure solutions, focusing on Linux (primarily RHEL) and Solaris server environments within a DevOps infrastructure.

• 6+ years of Linux (RHEL preferred) server administration expertise.
• Industry-standard UNIX certifications.
• Experience in Linux architecture, volume management, kernel tuning, and scripting in shell, Perl, and Python.
• Understanding of x86 hardware, virtualization platforms (VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V) and storage (NAS, EMC SAN).
• Knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/UDP, LAN/WAN, F5, VIPs, firewalls, and Cisco systems.
• Experience in enterprise and highly regulated environments (e.g., Financial Services).
• Familiarity with DevOps and configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Self-management skills to prioritize, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure.
• Understanding of ITIL operational discipline concepts.

Nice to have:

• Experience with SLES and Solaris x86/SPARC.
• Troubleshooting expertise with Veritas Volume Manager and Veritas Cluster Server.

• Configure, deploy, and support Linux (RHEL) and Solaris server environments in a DevOps delivery model.
• Collaborate with application teams and DevOps pods to ensure smooth deployment and reliable operation.
• Provide ongoing support across live and non-live environments maintaining high SLAs and quality.
• Write automation scripts in shell, Perl, or Python to streamline operations and reduce manual tasks.
• Advise on Unix/Linux design best practices from build to implementation.
• Develop and maintain standards for capacity management and risk assessment.
• Analyze, document, and implement changes based on business requests.
• Support incident troubleshooting and perform root cause analysis to improve system stability.
