• 5+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance and test automation.
• Proven experience designing or improving test automation frameworks.
• Deep expertise in areas such as framework architecture, CI/CD integration, test data management, API testing, or flaky test prevention.
• Experience mentoring or technically supporting QA or automation engineers.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright.
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript, including automation architecture and design patterns.
• Experience testing RESTful APIs: chaining requests, authentication, validating responses and schemas.
• Experience designing automated quality gates and integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI).
• Ability to diagnose and prevent flaky tests, test-environment issues, and pipeline failures.
• Experience with test data management and environment setup.
• Experience conducting automation code reviews and improving code quality.
• Use of AI-assisted tools for development and testing, with ability to spot problems in AI-generated code.
• Experience building reliable test suites incorporating telemetry, retry logic, and reporting.
• Strong understanding of testing principles including test layer selection, risk-based testing, exploratory and regression testing, and coverage analysis.
• Hands-on experience with exploratory and manual testing.
• Ability to make sound technical decisions, strong analytical and communication skills, and effective collaboration.

• Experience with Go-based backend services and distributed applications.
• Experience building or maintaining automation for backend-heavy systems.

Strategy and test design:

• Roll out test automation strategy with a focus on E2E tests balancing risk, coverage, execution time, and maintenance cost.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated tests across test pyramid levels.
• Define balance between automated and manual testing.
• Perform exploratory, smoke, and manual testing when needed.
• Analyze requirements, architecture, and product risks to identify testability issues early.
• Set and track automation quality goals.

Framework and tooling:

• Own architecture decisions for E2E test framework ensuring scalability, maintainability, reliability.
• Develop automated tests using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Write API tests and API-based E2E test steps.
• Set up and optimize cross-browser, cross-device, cross-environment testing using platforms like BrowserStack.

CI/CD, reliability and test data:

• Design and own automated quality gates in CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate test reporting tools like Report Portal and Allure.
• Identify and eliminate flaky tests and pipeline failures.
• Define scalable test data management ensuring security and compliance.

Code quality and documentation:

• Conduct automation code reviews and establish coding standards.
• Maintain technical documentation for automation frameworks and quality gates.

Collaboration and team growth:

• Work closely with developers, product managers, designers, and QA engineers to define acceptance criteria.
• Mentor less experienced QA engineers and support recruitment.
• Implement improvements to tooling, practices, and quality processes, sharing knowledge with the wider QA team.
