Software Engineer (Go/C++), Security Foundations Engineering - Splunk

The Security Foundations Engineering team within the Platform Engineering organization owns foundational platform security components that enable secure management of secrets, auditing, cryptography, and compliance capabilities. The team supports both internal engineering teams and end users, maintaining cloud-based, highly available platform security services across multiple regions and cloud providers.

• Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of related experience or Master’s degree plus 3 years of experience.
• Professional experience delivering and maintaining production software in Go and/or C++.
• Solid foundation in software design, debugging, testing, and secure coding principles.
• Good understanding of Unix/Linux (including shell scripting), networking concepts, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues methodically and learn unfamiliar parts of systems.
• Experience adopting and applying GenAI tools in software engineering workflows.
• Growth mindset with a strong desire to learn and try new technologies.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure across GCP, AWS, or Azure and DevOps/Site Reliability Engineering practices.
• Proficiency in containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Experience with automation tools like Terraform for infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipeline management.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity concepts including secrets management, auditing, cryptography, and compliance, with practical experience using HashiCorp ecosystem and cloud-native security services.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.

• Build, test, debug, and maintain core security components using Go and/or C++.
• Deliver features, fixes, enhancements, automation, and operational improvements.
• Write clean, maintainable, and secure code with strong unit and integration test coverage.
• Investigate product and production issues to identify root causes and contribute to fixes.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call support and broader Ops/SRE responsibilities.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, product management, support, and partners to improve systems and customer value.
