Senior Administrator Unix

• 6–10 years of hands-on experience in Linux server administration; RHEL preferred, including volume management, multipathing, and kernel parameter tuning.
• Strong scripting skills with Shell, Python, or Perl, and hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Background with enterprise hardware (IBM/HP x86), virtualization (VMware), NAS/SAN storage configuration, and core networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, VIPs).
• Proven track record in large-scale, highly regulated industries such as financial services, operating under strict ITIL and compliance frameworks.

Nice to have:

• Experience with SLES, Solaris, Veritas Volume Manager, or Veritas Cluster Server (VCS).
• Familiarity with WebSphere, Apache/Tomcat, MQ, Oracle RAC, MS SQL, or DB2.
• Industry-standard Unix/Linux or Agile certifications.

Environment & Pod Support:

• Configure, deploy, and manage Linux server environments across live and non-live environments, collaborating closely with DevOps pods.

Automation & Scripting:

• Build automation capabilities and write scripts using Shell, Python, and Ansible to streamline BAU operational tasks and reduce manual tasks.

Troubleshooting & Incident Management:

• Perform proactive root cause analysis, incident troubleshooting, and capacity management to prevent downtime.

Infrastructure Collaboration:

• Advise on Unix/Linux design best practices, supporting storage (NAS/SAN), networking, hardware (IBM/HP), and virtualization platforms.

Compliance & Standards:

• Ensure deployments conform to enterprise security standards, risk policies, and change control procedures.
