AI Automation Engineer

• At least 3 years of experience in process automation, system integration, or backend development.
• Experience building and maintaining production workflows in n8n or similar tools such as Make or Zapier, and willingness to further develop skills in n8n.
• Proficiency in at least one of Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript, and familiarity with JSON.
• Good understanding of REST APIs and integration mechanisms, including webhooks, OAuth 2.0, API tokens, pagination, and rate limits.
• Hands-on experience using language model APIs such as Claude or OpenAI, including prompt engineering, structured outputs, and tool calling.
• Ability to build reliable solutions, with attention to error handling, idempotency, logging, and testing workflows before deployment.
• Familiarity with Git, Docker, and the basics of Linux.
• Understanding of GDPR and secure processing of sensitive data in AI-powered solutions.
• Ability to assess business needs and the impact of automation, including time savings and error reduction.
• Ability to take ownership of solutions from analyzing user needs through implementation and ongoing maintenance.
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, explain limitations, and recommend suitable solutions.
• Critical approach to AI, understanding of language model limitations, and awareness of when human oversight is necessary.
• Willingness to share knowledge and document solutions so automations are maintainable and understandable to the team.

Nice to have:

• Experience administering Jira and Confluence, familiarity with Automation for Jira, ScriptRunner, or REST APIs in a Data Center environment, and understanding of challenges involved in migration to Atlassian Cloud.
• Familiarity with AI agents and RAG architectures, including vector databases such as Qdrant, embeddings, and MCP.
• Experience evaluating LLM solution quality, creating test sets, measuring response quality, and protecting systems against prompt injection.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API and experience integrating with Microsoft Teams, Entra ID, Active Directory, or LDAP.

• Analyze business requirements, translate them into automation solutions, and estimate implementation effort.
• Design, build, and maintain workflows in self-hosted n8n, configuring triggers, webhooks, schedules, error handling, and retries.
• Build integrations with G2A systems using REST APIs, including Jira, Confluence, Active Directory, Microsoft Teams, Google Cloud, and BigQuery.
• Design and implement LLM-powered solutions, including ticket classification and routing, summaries, document data extraction, and AI agents using tool calling and MCP.
• Write custom code when no-code solutions are insufficient, including JavaScript or Python scripts, simple microservices, and custom n8n nodes.
• Secure automations through credential and permission management and by protecting personal data in prompts and logs.
• Monitor workflow performance and reliability, configure alerts, analyze execution metrics, and control the costs of AI model queries.
• Create technical documentation, develop workflow standards and templates, share knowledge through training, and support other teams.
