Distributed Systems Engineer 5 - Cloud Platform Infrastructure Engineering Tooling

Cloud Infrastructure Engineering (CIE) builds and operates the foundational platform that Netflix runs on — compute, storage, networking, and performance infrastructure, at global scale. The Cloud Infrastructure Tooling team in Warsaw builds internal tooling, developer-facing UIs, and shared services that reduce duplication and increase velocity for CIE's domain teams.

• 7 or more years of experience designing and building complex, scalable distributed data infrastructure.
• Proficiency in at least one of: Java, Go, or C++, with a strong software engineering foundation.
• Practical understanding of at least one infrastructure domain — compute, distributed storage, cloud networking, or performance.
• Experience owning and delivering high-impact systems end-to-end in dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environments.
• Experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.

• Design, build, and operate software solutions and tooling that serve CIE's compute, storage, networking, and performance engineering teams.
• Solve real business needs at a large scale by applying software engineering and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Build software solutions and tools to improve developer experience and product experience in collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
• Architect and build a robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure.
• Drive alignment with stakeholders and set partner expectations.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with engineers, product managers, and TPM across teams.
• Share experiences with open source communities and contribute to Netflix OSS.
