Google Cloud Data Architect

The Cloud & Digital team at PwC Poland delivers innovative cloud solutions including Cloud Strategy, Cloud Migrations, Data Engineering, AI solutions, DevOps, Application Modernization, and Cloud Native Development.

• Minimum 3 years of experience designing and implementing data-based solutions, including at least 2 years with Google Cloud Platform.
• Deep knowledge of GCP services, especially BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer/Airflow, Cloud Functions.
• Proficient in SQL and at least one programming language: Python, Java, Scala.
• Experience designing and building Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Data Mesh / Data Lakehouse architectures.
• Understanding of data security in the cloud and data governance with practical application.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies (e.g., Terraform) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Cloud Build, GitHub Actions).
• Active use of AI tools to improve work quality and speed.
• Ability to conduct technical and business-level client conversations, present solutions, recommend approaches, and build trust as an architect-advisor.
• Problem-solving orientation, proactivity, and willingness to expand expertise towards GenAI, Cloud Architecture, or new platforms.
• Fluent communication in Polish and English (minimum B2).

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of data solutions in other public clouds like Microsoft Azure (Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks) or AWS (Amazon Redshift, AWS Glue, Amazon EMR).
• Experience with Teradata, Databricks, dbt, Apache Kafka, Apache Spark in on-premise and multi-cloud environments.
• Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect certification or equivalent.
• Consulting or project experience with direct client contact.
• Knowledge of AI/ML and GenAI solutions (Vertex AI, BigQuery ML) supporting AI deployments in data platform contexts.

• Create comprehensive data architecture projects in Google Cloud Platform considering business requirements, scalability, performance, security, and cost optimization.
• Implement solutions using a wide range of GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer/Airflow, Cloud Functions.
• Design and implement reliable and efficient data pipelines for processing, transforming, and loading data (ETL/ELT) from batch to real-time streaming.
• Design data warehouses, Data Lakes, and Data Lakehouses based on best data modeling practices.
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize performance of existing data solutions in GCP, identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements.
• Plan and execute data migrations to GCP and between cloud platforms.
• Create multi-cloud and platform-agnostic solutions using Azure, AWS, and tools like Databricks, dbt, Apache Spark.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Actively use AI tools (Gemini, Claude, Copilot, etc.) to increase engineering work efficiency.
• Conduct client meetings, present architectural solutions, explain technical decisions in business terms, and build relationships as a trusted technology advisor.
